Job Title: Sports Coach
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £460 – £650 per week
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time, Long-term / Day-to-day
Start Date: Immediately
GSL Education is looking for energetic and motivated individuals with a sports, coaching, or fitness background to work in secondary school settings across Sheffield. These roles are based in education environments where you will support learning, supervise classes, and help students stay engaged throughout the school day.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to transition from sports or fitness into school-based work, using coaching experience to support young people in a structured learning environment.
About the Role:
This role is ideal for individuals from sports coaching, fitness instruction, or youth leadership backgrounds who are interested in working in schools. You will support teachers, supervise lessons, and help students remain focused and engaged. You may also support PE lessons, practical activities, or small group interventions where required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support teachers in delivering lessons and classroom activities
- Supervise students in lessons as a learning support assistant or cover supervisor
- Use sports and coaching experience to engage and motivate students
- Support behaviour, focus, and participation in learning
- Help maintain a structured, safe, and positive learning environment
- Provide feedback to teaching staff on student engagement and progress
Requirements:
- Background in sports coaching, fitness, youth work, or similar active roles
- Confidence working with groups of young people
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, adaptable, and professional approach
- Interest in supporting young people in an education setting
