Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Rotherham
Pay rate: £460 - £600 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract type -Day-to-day/ Long-term, Full-time/ Part-time
Support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs to thrive in a structured and supportive school environment!
GSL Education are currently seeking a compassionate Social, Emotional and Mental Health Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA) to work in schools across Rotherham.
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will provide targeted support to pupils who require additional help with emotional regulation, behaviour, and engagement in learning.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs.
- Support pupils in managing behaviour and developing coping strategies.
- Assist teachers in delivering structured and engaging lessons.
- Implement behaviour support plans and interventions.
- Work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and pastoral teams.
Requirements of SEMH TA:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs.
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
- Calm, patient, and resilient approach.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
