Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Darlington
Salary: £100 – £130 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Part-time / Full-time
GSL Education are seeking confident, adaptable, and motivated Cover Supervisors to work within welcoming and inclusive schools across Darlington. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about education and eager to support young people in their academic journey.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during teacher absences, deliver pre-prepared lesson materials, and ensure students remain engaged and on task. This role is ideal for aspiring teachers, graduates, or anyone experienced in working with young people.
Your Role as a Cover Supervisor (CS) Will Include:
- Supervising lessons and ensuring students stay focused on set tasks.
- Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
- Delivering pre-prepared work and providing support where needed.
- Creating a positive, safe, and structured learning environment.
- Upholding safeguarding practices and supporting the wellbeing of all students.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working with young people (classroom settings, coaching, youth work, tutoring, mentoring, etc.).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students.
- Confidence in leading a classroom and managing behaviour.
- A degree or relevant qualification is beneficial but not essential.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
