Job Title: Mental Health Support Worker
Location: Sunderland
Salary: £95 – £115 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-Time/ Part-time, Long Term/ Day-to-day

Are you a compassionate and resilient Mental Health Support Worker looking to make a real difference?

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Mental Health Support Worker to support students in a nurturing school environment in Sunderland. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and helping them overcome barriers to learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with mental health needs.
  • Implement strategies to support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
  • Work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams as a Mental Health Support Worker.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
  • Support a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Mental Health Support Worker or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of SEMH needs and behaviour management strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, resilient, and proactive approach.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
