Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Barnsley (S70, S71)
Pay rate: £460 - £600 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract type -Day-to-day supply 

Are you a patient and supportive SEN Teaching Assistant who enjoys helping students reach their full potential?

Schools in Barnsley (S70, S71) and GSL Education are searching for a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to provide focused support to students with additional needs.

As a Special Education Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will help pupils access the curriculum, develop social and learning skills, and feel confident in the classroom. You will work closely with teachers and support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Support students with special educational needs during lessons and activities.
  • Implement strategies to support learning and behaviour.
  • Assist with individual or small group interventions.
  • Promote independence, confidence, and resilience in pupils.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting students with SEN in a school setting.
  • Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to follow school policies and adapt to individual student needs.
  • Team player with a proactive and reliable approach.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
