Job Title: Pastoral Lead
Location: Sheffield (S5, S9)
Pay rate: £460 - £600 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract type -Day-to-day/ Long-term, Full-time/ Part-time

GSL Education are currently welcoming applications from experienced Pastoral Leads to work in schools across Sheffield (S5, S9). This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference by guiding and supporting pupils through challenges and helping them achieve their potential.

As a Pastoral Lead, you will oversee pupils’ social, emotional, and personal development, ensuring they feel supported, safe, and motivated.

Key Duties of Pastoral Lead:

  • Lead and coordinate the school’s pastoral care programmes.
  • Provide guidance and support to pupils facing social, emotional, or behavioural challenges.
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support pupil wellbeing.
  • Monitor attendance, behaviour, and overall student progress.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote positive behaviour and resilience.
  • Mentor and support pupils to build confidence and personal skills.

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience working in a pastoral or pupil support role within a school setting.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism.
  • Empathetic, patient, and proactive approach to supporting pupils.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
