Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Dinnington (S25)
Salary: £460 – £600 per week (Depending on experience)
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term, Part-Time / Full-Time

Are you a compassionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant looking to make a real impact in the lives of children with additional learning needs?

GSL Education are seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Dinnington (S25). This role is ideal for individuals passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and ensuring they receive a high-quality education tailored to their needs.

About the Role:

As an SEN TA, you will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to provide targeted support to students with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and speech & language difficulties. Your role will be essential in creating a positive and structured learning environment that fosters confidence and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students with SEN.
  • Assist in adapting lesson plans to meet individual learning needs.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to implement tailored learning strategies.
  • Support students in developing their social, emotional, and academic skills.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to staff and parents where necessary.
  • Ensure the well-being and safeguarding of all pupils.

Requirements for SEN TA:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN in an educational or support setting.
  • A passion for supporting children with diverse learning needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other school staff.
  • Have an updated CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained).
  • Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
