Job Title: 1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location- Rotherham
Pay: £105 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-Time
Are you a 1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant who can provide consistent support and build strong relationships with students?
GSL Education are seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant to work in a specialist setting in Rotherham. This is a rewarding opportunity for a committed person who is passionate about supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
As a 1:1 SEMH TA you will work closely with an individual pupil, helping them manage behaviour, stay engaged, and access learning. The successful 1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant will be patient, resilient, and confident in supporting students who may need extra guidance throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support as a SEMH Teaching Assistant
- Support emotional regulation and behaviour management
- Help the student stay focused and engaged in lessons
- Build a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil
- Work closely with teachers and support staff
- Promote a safe and supportive learning environment
Requirements:
- Experience working as a 1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant or in a similar role
- Understanding of SEMH needs and behaviour support strategies
- Calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained)
- An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply
