Role: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Dinnington (S25)
Pay Rate: £105 per day
Start date: ASAP
Contract Type: Full-Time
GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to work within schools in Dinnington (S25). This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced SEMH TA to support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs in a structured and supportive setting.
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in helping students re-engage with learning, develop emotional regulation, and build positive behaviour patterns. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to ensure pupils feel safe, supported, and motivated.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted support to pupils with SEMH needs
- Support emotional regulation, behaviour management, and positive engagement
- Work 1:1 and in small groups to support learning and personal development
- Assist teaching staff in delivering structured and accessible lessons
- Act as a positive role model and trusted adult within the school
Person Specification:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to manage challenging behaviour confidently
- An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained)
- An enhanced DBS registered on the update service, or willingness to apply
