Job Title: Behaviour Support Staff
Location: Wakefield (WF4)
Salary: £460 – £600 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are offering an opportunity for dedicated Behaviour Support Staff to work in schools across Wakefield (WF4).
As a Behaviour Support Staff, you will work closely with students who display challenging behaviour or require additional emotional support. You will play a vital role in promoting positive behaviour, enhancing engagement, and helping students access learning effectively within the school environment.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group behaviour support to students
- Support students in managing emotions, behaviour, and social interactions
- Implement behaviour management strategies in line with school policies
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and pastoral teams
- Help students remain engaged in lessons and daily school routines
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching and pastoral staff
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
Behaviour Support Staff Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people with behavioural needs
- A strong understanding of behaviour management and positive intervention strategies
- The ability to build trusting and professional relationships with students
- Calm, patient, and resilient approach to challenging situations
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and supporting student wellbeing
- Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
