Early Years Practitioner
Location: Scarborough, North Yorkshire
Start Date: ASAP / April 2026
Contract: Full-Time, Ongoing
Salary: £92 – £110 per day
Are you a nurturing, enthusiastic, and dedicated Early Years Practitioner looking to make a real difference? We are seeking a full-time Early Years Practitioner to join a specialist setting in Scarborough, supporting young children with additional needs at the very start of their educational journey.

About the Setting:
- A specialist provision supporting children with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC) and Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN).
- Focus on early development, communication, and sensory-based learning.

- Strong emphasis on teamwork, training, and staff development.
About the Role as an Early Years Practitioner:
- Support children within an Early Years setting through play-based and structured learning.
- Promote communication and interaction using visual aids, PECS, Makaton, or similar strategies (training can be provided).
- Assist with personal care and daily routines where required.
- Support children with emotional regulation and social development.
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to meet individual needs.
- Help create a safe, engaging, and stimulating learning environment.
The Ideal Early Years Practitioner Will Have:
- Experience working with young children (EYFS, nursery, or childcare setting).
- A relevant Early Years qualification (desirable but not essential).
- An understanding of SEN, particularly ASC and/or SLCN (desirable).
- A patient, caring, and proactive approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting early development.
