Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (Care Experience Required)
Location: Doncaster (DN8)
Salary: £105 – £110 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time

GSL Education are seeking dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants with care experience to work in a school setting in Doncaster (DN8).
As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will support students with additional needs, helping them access learning, develop independence, and build confidence in a structured and supportive setting.
Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Provide one-to-one support for students with Special Educational Needs
- Assist pupils with personal care and daily routines where required
- Support students with communication, social, and emotional development
- Help implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support strategies
- Assist the class teacher in delivering adapted learning activities
- Encourage positive behaviour and support students in managing emotions
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students to support engagement
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals
SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Previous care experience (essential), such as support work, healthcare, or residential care
- Experience working with individuals with SEN, autism, or complex needs is desirable
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable individuals
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
