Salary: £240 to £280 per day (depending on experience)

GSL Education are seeking an experienced and motivated Deputy Headteacher to join a forward-thinking, supportive school in Newcastle upon Tyne. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to strategic planning, inspire staff, and help create an environment where all pupils succeed.
What You’ll Be Doing as Deputy Head:
- Leading on key areas of school improvement in line with the school’s vision and development plan
- Supporting and managing teaching staff to ensure high-quality learning and progress
- Upholding strong safeguarding, behaviour, and pastoral systems across the school
- Delivering high-impact teaching where required and modelling outstanding practice
- Working closely with the Headteacher, stakeholders, governors, and the wider school community
- Implementing policies, monitoring standards, and ensuring compliance with statutory guidelines
What We’re Looking For:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) — essential
- Proven leadership experience at SLT level (Assistant Head, Acting Deputy Head, or similar)
- A strategic thinker with excellent communication and decision‑making skills
- Strong understanding of curriculum development and school improvement frameworks
- Experience in driving positive outcomes for pupils and leading teams effectively
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
