SEN Teacher
Location: Dartford, Kent
Salary: £120 - £250 per day (depending on experience)
Start date: Immediately
Contract: Supply / Long-Term / Permanent

If so, then we at GSL Education Kent would love to hear from you. We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated SEN Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive specialist school located in Dartford. The selected SEN Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality, tailored education to pupils with a range of special educational needs, helping them to achieve their full potential in a nurturing environment.
The school is a highly regarded specialist provision catering to pupils with complex needs, including autism, moderate learning difficulties, and communication challenges. The school is committed to providing a personalised curriculum that celebrates each child's individuality and promotes independence, confidence, and a love of learning.
As an SEN Teacher, you will be expected to:
- Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils with SEN.
- Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with support staff and external professionals.
- Create a safe, positive, and structured classroom environment that supports engagement and progress.
- Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and families to ensure a holistic approach to each child's development.
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies to ensure all learners achieve their goals.
In order to be considered for this SEN Teacher role, the candidate must:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Have experience teaching pupils with special educational needs (SEN experience is essential).
- Possess a strong understanding of differentiation, behaviour management strategies, and inclusive teaching practices.
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Meet GSL's safer recruitment background checks.
- Have a Child Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
