Job Title: English Teacher
Location: Barnsley (S70, S71)
Pay rate: Upto £220 per day (Depending on experience)

Do you enjoy teaching English and helping students develop confidence in reading, writing, and communication?

GSL Education are searching for an experienced English Teacher to work with schools in Barnsley, including the S70 and S71 areas, delivering engaging lessons that inspire students and build essential literacy skills.

As an English Teacher, you will deliver well-structured lessons that develop students’ understanding of language, literature, and communication, while fostering critical thinking and creativity in a supportive classroom environment.

Main Duties:

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Teach reading, writing, grammar, and literature to develop student skills.
  • Encourage discussion, analysis, and creative thinking.
  • Maintain a positive and well-managed classroom environment.
  • Assess student progress and provide clear, constructive feedback.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum delivery.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience working as an English Teacher in a school setting.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
