Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Barnsley (S70, S71)
Pay rate: £460 - £600 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract type -Day-to-day supply

Support students with additional learning needs by providing tailored assistance and helping them engage confidently in classroom activities!

GSL Education are seeking compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to join schools in Barnsley, covering the S70 and S71 areas. The Special Education Needs Teaching Assistants (SEN TA) will work alongside teachers and SEN staff to provide academic, behavioural, and emotional support to students who require extra help.

Responsibilities of SEN TA:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN.
  • Assist teachers in adapting lesson materials and classroom activities.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and active engagement in learning.
  • Support social, emotional, and academic development of students.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times.

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN.
  • Patient, supportive, and empathetic approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
