Job Title: 1:1 Teaching Assistant

Location: Wakefield (WF4)
Pay: £460 – £600 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-Day / Long-Term, Part-Time / Full-Time

Are you a caring and patient Teaching Assistant who enjoys providing 1:1 support and helping students reach their full potential?

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work in a supportive school in Wakefield (WF4). This role is ideal for a committed 1:1 Teaching Assistant who can build strong relationships with pupils and provide consistent support to help them succeed both academically and emotionally.

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with an individual pupil who requires additional support, helping them stay engaged in lessons and develop confidence in their learning. The successful 1:1 TA will be calm, encouraging, and able to adapt their approach to meet the needs of the student.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil during lessons
  • Help the student stay focused, engaged, and motivated
  • Support learning activities set by the class teacher
  • Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Work closely with teachers and SEN staff
  • Create a safe and supportive learning environment

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people in a school or support setting
  • A patient and understanding approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils
  • An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained)
  • An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply
