Job Title: Behaviour Support / Mentor
Location: Wakefield (WF4)
Salary: £460 – £600 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term, Part-Time / Full-Time
Are you a patient, resilient, and motivated individual looking to support young people who need extra guidance? GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support / Mentor to work in a supportive school setting in Wakefield (WF4).
As a Behaviour Support / Mentor, you will play an important role in helping pupils manage behaviour, build confidence, and stay engaged in learning. The successful Behaviour Support / Mentor will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to provide both classroom and one-to-one support for students who require additional encouragement and structure.
This role is ideal for candidates with experience in behaviour support, youth work, SEN, sports coaching, or social care who are passionate about making a positive difference in education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with behavioural or emotional needs.
- Support students in developing positive behaviour and coping strategies.
- Assist teachers in maintaining a calm and productive classroom.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
- Follow behaviour plans and school policies consistently.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in behaviour support, mentoring, SEN, or youth work.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Calm, patient, and confident approach to managing behaviour.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A genuine interest in supporting young people.
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
