Job Title: SEN Support Worker (Early Years Focus)
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Salary: £100 – £120 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time | 5 days per week
Working Hours: 08:30 – 16:30

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEN Support Worker to work in a specialist SEN school in Newcastle upon Tyne. This role focuses on supporting pupils with ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition) and PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties), with an emphasis on outdoor learning and sensory development.
About the Role:
As an SEN Support Worker, you will support young children in an early years environment, helping them engage in sensory-based activities and outdoor pursuits. You will play a key role in creating a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment where pupils can develop communication, independence, and life skills.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with ASC and PMLD

Support personal care needs where required

Deliver and support outdoor learning and sensory-based activities

Encourage engagement, communication, and independence

Create a calm, structured, and nurturing environment

Work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff

Uphold safeguarding and health & safety policies at all times
Requirements:

Experience working with SEN, early years, or vulnerable children (desirable)

Understanding of ASC, PMLD, or sensory needs

Comfortable supporting personal care

Energetic, patient, and nurturing approach

Ability to stay calm and build positive relationships

Must be available 5 days per week

An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one
