Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £460–£600 per week
Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term / Day-to-day
Start Date: Immediately

Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs? A Sheffield school is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to support students in building confidence, stability, and engagement with learning.

About the Role:
You will work closely with teachers and support staff to help students manage emotions, stay engaged in lessons, and make progress both academically and personally.

Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEMH needs during lessons and activities

  • Implement behaviour and learning strategies set by teaching staff

  • Build positive relationships to encourage engagement and trust

  • Support emotional regulation and personal development

  • Monitor and report on student progress

Requirements:

  • Experience working with SEMH or SEN students desirable

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Patient, empathetic, and resilient

  • Ability to adapt to individual student needs

  • Have the right to work in the UK

  • Hold an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last 2 years

  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
