A welcoming and supportive SEND school in Tower Hamlets is seeking a PMLD Teaching Assistant to join their team and support pupils with complex learning needs.
About the Role
As a PMLD Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils with severe and complex learning difficulties, including physical, sensory, and communication needs
- Assist with personalised learning programmes under the guidance of the class teacher and therapy teams
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support
- Use a range of specialist equipment and communication methods (e.g., PECs, sensory resources)
- Support with personal care, feeding, and mobility needs where required
- Help create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment
✅ The Ideal Candidate
- Experience working with PMLD, SLD, ASD, or complex needs (school, residential or care settings welcome)
- Calm, empathetic, and resilient nature
- Willingness to support personal care and manual handling
- A passion for helping vulnerable learners reach their potential
- Team player with good communication skills
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
