Geography Teacher

Location: York
Salary: £32,916 – £51,048 per annum
Contract: Full Time
Start Date: Easter 2026

GSL Education are recruiting a knowledgeable Geography Teacher to join a high-performing secondary school in York.

This well-established secondary school is recognised for its strong academic standards and commitment to student progress. The Humanities department is collaborative and well-resourced, supporting pupils to develop a deep understanding of global issues and geographical concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Geography across KS3 and KS4

  • Deliver engaging lessons that promote critical thinking

  • Assess and track pupil progress

  • Prepare students for GCSE examinations

  • Contribute to departmental planning

Requirements

  • QTS with a Geography specialism

  • Experience teaching in a secondary school

  • Strong subject knowledge

  • Ability to engage and inspire learners

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
