Job Title: Drama Teacher
Location: Barnsley (S70, S71)
Pay rate: Upto £220 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract type -Day-to-day/ Long-term, Full-time/ Part-time

GSL Education are seeking a passionate Drama Teacher to work with schools in Barnsley, including the S70 and S71 areas, delivering engaging lessons that build confidence, creativity, and communication skills.

As a Drama Teacher, you will deliver well-structured lessons that encourage students to explore performance, develop acting techniques, and express ideas in a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging Drama lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Encourage creativity, confidence, and self-expression through performance.
  • Support students in developing acting, voice, and movement skills.
  • Maintain a positive and well-managed classroom environment.
  • Assess student progress and provide clear, constructive feedback.
  • Support school productions and extracurricular drama activities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum delivery.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience working as a Drama Teacher in a school setting.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • A passion for the performing arts and student development.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
