Payrate: £100+ per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are currently recruiting a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to work in schools in the S25 area of Rotherham.

As a Social, Emotional and Mental Health Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA), you will provide tailored support to pupils who require additional help with behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning.

Responsibilities of SEMH TA:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs.
  • Support pupils in managing emotions and developing positive behaviour.
  • Assist teachers in delivering structured and engaging lessons.
  • Implement behaviour support strategies and interventions.
  • Work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and pastoral teams.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs.
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
  • Calm, patient, and resilient approach.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
