Teacher of Design Technology – Food Technology Specialism
Location: Selby, North Yorkshire
Start Date: ASAP / April 2026
Contract: Full-Time

GSL Education is seeking a passionate and dedicated Design Technology Teacher (Food Technology specialism) to join a supportive secondary school in Selby. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to inspire students and develop their practical and theoretical understanding of food, nutrition, and design.
The Role as a Food Technology Teacher:
- Deliver engaging and high-quality Food Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Plan, prepare, and assess student work in line with the national curriculum
- Create a safe, inclusive, and well-managed learning environment within practical settings
- Support students in developing life skills, creativity, and confidence through food education
- Contribute to the wider Design Technology department and school community
The Ideal Food Technology Teacher:
- Holds QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
- Has experience teaching Food Technology/Design Technology at secondary level
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for practical teaching
- Confident managing a classroom and maintaining high expectations of behaviour
- Committed to supporting all learners, including those with additional needs
