Biology Teacher

Location: Medway, Kent
Start: 20th April 2026 (Term 5)
Salary: £120 – £250 per day (depending on experience/scale)

Are you a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Biology Teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity in Medway? We are currently recruiting a dedicated Teacher of Biology to join a high-performing grammar school on a long-term supply basis from April 2026.

This Biology Teacher position offers the opportunity to work in a highly regarded selective grammar school with a strong academic reputation. The school is known for its ambitious curriculum, supportive teaching environment, and students who are motivated and eager to learn.

As a Teacher of Biology, you will benefit from having all lessons pre-planned, allowing you to focus on delivering engaging and high-quality teaching while supporting students to achieve excellent outcomes.

Key Responsibilities for the Biology Teacher:

• Deliver engaging and high-quality Biology lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
• Ensure strong classroom management and a positive learning environment
• Mark assessments and provide constructive feedback to support student progress
• Deliver challenging content appropriate for high-achieving learners
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour, engagement, and academic achievement
• Support the wider success of the Science department and school community

Requirements for the Biology Teacher:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised teaching qualification – essential
• Strong subject knowledge and experience teaching Biology at KS3 and KS4
• Ability to deliver high-quality lessons to academically able students
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of teaching and learning
• Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
