Job Title: DT Teacher
Location: Tower Hamlets
Pay Rate: £185 – £265 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Long Term

GSL Education’s London Branch is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Design and Technology (DT) Teacher to join a forward-thinking secondary school in Tower Hamlets. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator with strong subject knowledge and a commitment to delivering high‑quality DT teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4.

About the Role

As a DT Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and creative lessons that inspire students to develop practical skills, innovative thinking, and confidence within Design and Technology. The ideal candidate will be committed to promoting a positive learning environment and ensuring students thrive academically and creatively.

Responsibilities for the DT Teacher Role

  • Plan and deliver high‑quality Design and Technology lessons for KS3 and KS4 students.
  • Create a safe, stimulating, and well‑managed practical classroom environment.
  • Assess, track, and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning to ensure lessons are engaging and effective.
  • Support students in developing practical skills across materials, tools, and technology.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour, safety, and safeguarding procedures.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to deliver cohesive teaching programmes and department goals.

Requirements for the DT Teacher

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – this is essential for this role.
  • Strong subject knowledge and teaching experience in Design and Technology.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students through creative and effective teaching.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to promoting high standards of achievement and progress.
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
