Job Title: Sports or PE Focused Teaching Assistant
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Salary: £90 – £120 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Monday 23rd March
Contract Type: Full-time | 5 days per week

GSL Education are seeking a motivated Sports or PE Focused Teaching Assistant to work in a school in Newcastle upon Tyne. This role involves providing 1:1 support to a pupil, using sport and physical activity to help improve engagement, behaviour, and confidence.
About the Role:
As a Sports or PE Focused Teaching Assistant, you will support a pupil on a 1:1 basis, using sports-based activities and positive encouragement to help them stay focused and engaged in their learning. You will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support the pupil both in and outside the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 support to a pupil throughout the school day

Use sports and physical activities to encourage engagement and motivation

Promote positive behaviour, teamwork, and confidence

Support pupils during lessons, activities, and break times

Work closely with teaching staff to support the pupil’s development

Encourage participation in physical education and healthy lifestyles
Requirements:

Experience in sports coaching, PE support, or working with young people

Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Ability to motivate and engage pupils through sport and activity

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service – essential

Must be available 5 days per week

Reliable, proactive, and committed to supporting pupils
