Salary: £95 to £115 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a caring and supportive school environment in Gateshead. This role goes beyond classroom support, it’s about helping young people feel understood, valued, and capable of success, no matter the challenges they face.
What You Will Be Doing as an SEMH TA:
- Providing tailored 1:1 or small-group support to pupils with SEMH needs
- Assisting with behaviour regulation, emotional support, and de-escalation
- Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
- Supporting learning, engagement, and confidence-building activities
- Helping pupils develop resilience, communication skills, and self-esteem
What We Are Looking for in an SEMH TA:
- Experience supporting young people with SEMH, SEND, or behavioural needs
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- The ability to remain positive, resilient, and proactive
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
