Job Title: SEN Teacher
Location: Maidstone
Salary: £150 – £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

Are you a passionate and dedicated teacher committed to supporting students with Special Educational Needs?

If so, GSL Education are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate SEN Teacher to work in schools in Maidstone.

As an SEN Teacher, you will plan and deliver tailored lessons that support students with a range of needs, helping them build confidence, independence, and academic progress. You will work closely with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and other professionals to ensure students receive the individualised support they require.

Key Responsibilities of an SEN Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons that meet the needs of students with SEN
  • Adapt teaching strategies and resources to support individual learning requirements
  • Support pupils in developing academic, communication, and social skills
  • Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
  • Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing clear feedback
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and SEN staff to support pupils effectively
  • Promote positive behaviour and support students’ emotional wellbeing
  • Communicate with parents, carers, and external professionals regarding pupil progress
  • Maintain accurate records of student development and support strategies
  • Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times

To be an SEN Teacher, what you should have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs is desirable
  • Strong understanding of inclusive teaching practices
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • A patient, supportive, and flexible approach to teaching
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
