Job Title: SEN Teacher
Location: Gravesend
Salary: £150 – £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

Are you a passionate and dedicated teacher with a strong commitment to supporting students with Special Educational Needs?

GSL Education are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate SEN Teacher to work in schools in Gravesend with an immediate start.

As an SEN Teacher, you will deliver structured and engaging lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of pupils, helping them build confidence, independence, and academic progress. You will work closely with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and other professionals to ensure students receive the personalised support they require.

Responsibilities of an Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons to meet the needs of students with Special Educational Needs
  • Adapt teaching strategies and learning materials to support individual learning requirements
  • Support students in developing academic, communication, and social skills
  • Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
  • Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing constructive feedback
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and SEN staff to support learning
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing in the classroom
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals regarding student progress
  • Maintain accurate records of pupil development and support strategies
  • Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times

SEN Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs is desirable
  • Strong understanding of inclusive teaching strategies
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • A patient, supportive, and adaptable approach to teaching
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
