GSL Education Manchester is looking to recruit a motivated and ambitious Trainee Recruitment Consultant to join our growing Manchester branch. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in education recruitment, working within a supportive and high-performing team.
This role offers the chance to learn the full 360 recruitment process, building your own desk within the education sector. You will develop relationships with Headteachers, School Business Managers, SENCOs, and other key decision-makers, while supporting education professionals in finding the right opportunities.
We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, disciplined, and resilient, with the confidence to communicate professionally and build trusted relationships with both schools and candidates.
About the Role
As a Trainee Recruitment Consultant, you will learn to manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including:
- Building strong relationships with schools and education leaders across Greater Manchester
- Visiting schools regularly to maintain partnerships and understand their staffing needs
- Sourcing and supporting teachers, teaching assistants, and support staff seeking roles in schools
- Advertising roles, screening CVs, and interviewing candidates
- Matching candidates to the most suitable opportunities using a consultative approach
- Managing bookings and ensuring a high standard of service to both schools and candidates
- Developing your own specialist recruitment desk within the education sector
This role is both relationship-driven and target-focused, offering the opportunity to grow a successful desk and build a strong reputation within the education community.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong communication skills both verbally and online
- Confident and professional when speaking with schools and candidates
- Understanding of education terminology or school environments (desirable)
- Self-motivated with the discipline to build and manage your own desk
- Resilient, proactive, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable using modern technologies, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office
- Full UK driving licence (or willingness to obtain one during probation)
Consultants will regularly visit schools, so applicants will be DBS checked and must be comfortable working within school environments.
