Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Sheffield (S2, S3)
Salary: £460 – £600 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

Are you a resilient and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant looking to support pupils with additional learning needs and help them reach their full potential?

If so, GSL Education are seeking compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants  to work in supportive schools across Sheffield (S2, S3).

As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will provide tailored support to pupils with special educational needs, working closely with teachers and support staff to create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.

Main Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN.
  • Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum and classroom activities.
  • Support learning according to individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Encourage positive behaviour and emotional development.
  • Support pupils’ social and communication skills.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams.

SEN TA Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable.
  • CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3, or a relevant degree is desirable but not essential.
  • A patient, caring, and adaptable approach to supporting learning.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a classroom environment.
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
