Teacher of English
Location: Selby, North Yorkshire
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-Time, until Summer 2026
Salary: MPS/UPS (depending on experience)
GSL Education are seeking a committed and resilient Teacher of English to join a specialist provision in Selby, North Yorkshire, starting as soon as possible on a full-time basis until Summer 2026. This is a rewarding opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about supporting pupils who require a more personalised and nurturing learning environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in helping students develop confidence in literacy, communication and self-expression, while supporting their social and emotional development.

The Role:
- Deliver engaging English lessons tailored to the individual needs and abilities of pupils.
- Support students in developing key literacy skills including reading, writing and communication.
- Adapt teaching approaches to meet the needs of pupils with additional learning or behavioural needs.
- Build positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and progress.
- Work collaboratively with support staff and the wider school team to provide a consistent approach to behaviour and learning.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching English at GCSE level.
- Confidence supporting pupils with SEMH or additional needs.
- Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
- A patient, flexible and nurturing approach to teaching.
