GSL Education are seeking a passionate and motivated Food Technology Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in Selby, North Yorkshire, starting in April 2026. This is a full-time opportunity for a dedicated teacher who is enthusiastic about delivering engaging, practical lessons and inspiring students to develop essential life skills through food and nutrition education.
This role would suit both experienced teachers and ECTs who are committed to creating an engaging learning environment and helping pupils develop confidence and independence in the kitchen.

The Role:
- Plan and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Teach students key cooking techniques, nutrition knowledge and food safety practices.
- Encourage creativity, independence and confidence in practical learning environments.
- Assess and monitor pupil progress, providing constructive feedback to support development.
- Contribute positively to the wider school community and departmental activities.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching Food Technology within a secondary school setting.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage learners of varying abilities.
- A passion for food education, nutrition and practical learning.
- A commitment to safeguarding and supporting the wellbeing of young people.
