Job description
A welcoming and well-regarded primary school in Harlow is looking to appoint a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child within an Early Years class. This is a full-time position starting as soon as possible, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact during a crucial stage of a child’s development.

About the Role
In this role, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil in the Early Years setting. You will help the child access learning activities, support their development through play-based learning, and encourage positive engagement with classroom routines and activities.
This role is ideal for someone who is patient, nurturing, and passionate about supporting young children’s development.
Key Responsibilities

Providing consistent 1:1 support for a child within an Early Years classroom

Assisting the child in accessing learning through play-based activities and structured tasks

Supporting the child’s social, emotional, and communication development

Encouraging participation and independence within the classroom environment

Helping to maintain a safe, positive, and engaging learning space

Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to support the child’s individual needs

Observing and reporting on the child’s progress and development
The Ideal Candidate

Holds a Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare (essential)

Experience working with children within Early Years or nursery settings

A patient, caring, and nurturing approach

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Ability to build positive and trusting relationships with young children

A genuine passion for supporting children’s early development
