Job Title: SEMH Teacher
Location: Wakefield (WF4)
Salary: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term | Full-time / Part-time

Are you a passionate and resilient SEMH Teacher looking to positively impact the lives of pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs?

GSL Education are actively looking for a committed SEMH Teacher to work in supportive and inclusive schools across Wakefield (WF4).

As an SEMH Teacher, you will support pupils who require a structured, understanding, and nurturing approach to learning. You will play a key role in helping students develop confidence, emotional regulation, and academic progress within a safe educational environment.

To work as an SEMH Teacher, your responsibilities will be:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to meet SEMH needs.
  • Support pupils on a one-to-one or small group basis as required.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies in line with school policies.
  • Create a calm, structured, and positive learning environment.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching approaches accordingly.
  • Work closely with SENCOs, pastoral teams, and external professionals.

SEMH Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience working with pupils with SEMH needs.
  • Strong behaviour management and classroom control skills.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient teaching approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
