Job Title: Pastoral Manager
Location: Wakefield (WF4)
Salary: £460 – £600 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time
Do you have experience managing behaviour, safeguarding concerns, and providing pastoral support in a school setting?
GSL Education are seeking a committed and proactive Pastoral Manager to work in schools in Wakefield (WF4). This role is ideal for individuals who are dedicated to supporting students’ emotional wellbeing, behaviour, and personal development while helping create a positive and supportive learning environment.
As a Pastoral Manager, you will play a key role in promoting positive behaviour, supporting vulnerable students, and working closely with staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure students receive the guidance and support they need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities of a Pastoral Manager:
- Provide pastoral support to students, helping them overcome barriers to learning
- Monitor and manage student behaviour in line with the school’s behaviour policies
- Support students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs
- Work closely with teachers, senior leaders, and safeguarding staff to support student wellbeing
- Liaise with parents and carers regarding student progress, behaviour, and wellbeing concerns
- Support attendance monitoring and follow up on persistent absence where required
- Help implement behaviour intervention strategies and individual support plans
- Contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment
Requirements to be a Pastoral Manager:
- Experience working in a pastoral, behaviour support, or student support role within a school or similar setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families
- Good organisational and problem-solving skills
- A calm, resilient, and supportive approach when dealing with challenging situations
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
