SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Folkestone, Kent
Salary: £88.94+ per day (depending on experience)
Start date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time, Long-term supply

If so, then we at GSL Education Kent would love to hear from you. We have a rewarding opportunity for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school at their Folkestone campus. This is a full-time, long-term position starting ASAP. The selected SEN Teaching Assistant will be responsible for providing tailored support to students with various Special Educational Needs, including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH, ensuring they can access the curriculum in a safe and inclusive environment.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be expected to:
- Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with specific learning requirements.
- Assist the class teacher in adapting learning materials to suit the needs of the individual.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the SENCO and teaching staff.
- Adhere to school policies on safeguarding, inclusion, and positive behaviour management.
In order to be considered for this SEN Teaching Assistant role, the candidate must:
- Have previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant or within a similar care/support capacity.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of various special educational needs and disabilities.
- Possess excellent communication skills and a nurturing, professional approach.
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Meet GSL’s safer recruitment background checks.
- Have a Child Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
