Job Title: Cover Supervisor / Cover Teacher

Salary: £460 – £650 per week
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time, Long-term / Day-to-day

GSL Education is seeking a confident and adaptable Cover Supervisor / Cover Teacher to support secondary schools in Sheffield. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with students, can maintain a positive classroom environment, and ensure learning continues smoothly during teacher absences.
Whether you are an experienced Cover Supervisor, Supply Teacher, or a graduate looking to gain classroom experience, this role offers exposure to a variety of subjects and year groups, helping students stay engaged and motivated.

About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor / Cover Teacher, you will supervise lessons during teacher absences, following pre-prepared plans and ensuring students remain focused and productive. You will provide classroom support, manage behaviour, and maintain a safe and positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Supervise secondary school classrooms across Key Stages 3 and 4

Deliver pre-set lessons and ensure students stay on task

Maintain high standards of behaviour and engagement

Support students’ learning where needed

Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding lesson progress and behaviour
Requirements:

Previous experience working with secondary-aged students is preferred

Strong classroom management and communication skills

Confidence supervising groups of students across different subjects

Professional, reliable, and adaptable approach
