Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Wakefield, WF4
Salary: £460 – £600 per week
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time, Long-term / Day-to-day
Start Date: Immediately
GSL Education is looking for a compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with Special Educational Needs in a local Wakefield school. This is a rewarding role for someone dedicated to helping children overcome challenges and achieve their personal best.

About the Role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and support staff to help students access learning, follow individual education plans, and develop confidence and independence. Your role will be hands-on, offering guidance, encouragement, and practical support tailored to each child’s needs.
Key Responsibilities:

Support students with SEN in line with their individual education plans (IEPs)

Assist students with learning, personal care, and emotional support where appropriate

Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in activities

Observe, monitor, and report on student progress

Help create a safe, structured, and positive learning environment
Requirements:

Experience supporting students with SEN is preferred

Understanding of SEN strategies and approaches

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Patient, empathetic, and flexible approach
