Location: Barking and Dagenham
Salary: £40,317 - £62,496 per annum
Start Date: April/Sep 2026

GSL Education London Branch is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Music Teacher to join a welcoming coeducational secondary school in Barking and Dagenham. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate Music Teacher who wants to inspire students and develop their musical skills in a supportive and creative school environment.
As a Music Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering engaging and high-quality music lessons to students across Key Stages. The successful Music Teacher will encourage creativity, performance, and confidence in music while helping students develop a strong appreciation for different musical styles and traditions.

This role is ideal for a motivated Music Teacher who enjoys working with young people and creating exciting learning experiences through music.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Music lessons across KS3 and KS4.
- Inspire students to develop their musical skills, creativity, and confidence.
- Prepare students for performances, assessments, and examinations.
- Encourage participation in school concerts, clubs, and musical activities.
- Assess and monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the Music department and wider school activities.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Proven experience working as a Music Teacher in a secondary school.
- Strong subject knowledge and passion for teaching Music.
- Ability to plan engaging lessons that support students of different abilities.
- Good classroom management and communication skills.
- Commitment to supporting students’ academic and personal development.
