Job Title: Early Years Teaching Assistant (Early Years TA)
Location: Newcastle
Salary: £90 – £115 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking enthusiastic and caring Early Years Teaching Assistants to work in schools and nurseries across Newcastle.
As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will support teachers and early years practitioners in delivering engaging learning activities while helping children develop key social, emotional, and educational skills within a safe and stimulating environment.
As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will be:
- Support the class teacher and Early Years practitioners in delivering engaging learning activities
- Assist children with early learning, including phonics, numbers, and communication skills
- Provide one-to-one or small group support for pupils who need additional help
- Encourage children’s social, emotional, and physical development through play-based learning
- Help prepare classroom resources and maintain a stimulating learning environment
- Support classroom routines, including transitions, snack time, and outdoor learning
- Observe and report on pupils’ progress and behaviour to the class teacher
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for all pupils
Early Years TA Requirements:
- Experience working with young children or in an Early Years setting is desirable
- A degree in Education, Primary or Early year Education or a similar field.
- CACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Teaching Assistant or childcare is desirable but not mandatory.
- A caring, patient, and supportive attitude
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting early childhood development
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
