Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Location: Newcastle
Salary: £90 – £115 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants to work in schools across Newcastle.
As a Teaching Assistant (TA), you will work closely with teachers to support classroom learning and help create a positive and engaging learning environment. The role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with young people and are committed to helping them succeed academically and socially.
Main Responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant:
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students who require additional help
- Assist with the preparation of learning materials and classroom resources
- Help maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment
- Support students’ academic, social, and emotional development
- Encourage students to stay engaged and focused during lessons
- Assist with classroom organisation and behaviour management in line with school policies
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to support students’ progress
Requirements of a Teaching Assistant (TA):
- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
- A degree in Education, psychology, sports, social care, science or a similar field.
- CACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Teaching Assistant or childcare is desirable but not mandatory.
- A positive, patient, and supportive attitude
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
