Job Title: RE Teacher
Location: Waltham Forest
Payrate: £185 - £265 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: 9th March
Contract: Long Term until July 2026, (Part Time, Wed - Fri)

GSL Education are seeking a knowledgeable RE Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in Waltham Forest.
The school is seeking a dedicated RE Teacher who can motivate students across Key Stages 3 and 4, and potentially Key Stage 5. The successful RE Teacher will join a supportive department and play a key role in promoting respect, understanding, and critical thinking through Religious Education. This RE Teacher role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating engaging lessons and encouraging meaningful discussion in the classroom.
As an RE Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons, supporting students’ academic progress, and contributing to a positive and inclusive school environment. The successful RE Teacher will have strong subject knowledge and the ability to make Religious Education relevant and interesting for students of different backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging RE lessons across KS3 and KS4 in line with the national curriculum.
- Encourage students to explore different religions, beliefs, and ethical issues.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Assess and monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Support students in developing critical thinking and respectful discussion skills.
- Maintain good classroom management and behaviour standards.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Humanities department.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- A degree in Religious Education or a closely related subject.
- Strong knowledge of Religious Education curriculum content.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Ability to inspire students and promote positive learning attitudes.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Updated CV covering the last ten years with no unexplained employment gaps.
