Job Title: Food Technology Teacher
Location: Hackney
Payrate: £185 - £265 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: As soon as possible
Contract: Long Term until July 2026

About the Role:
As a Food Technology Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons that help students develop practical cooking skills, knowledge of nutrition, and an understanding of food science. You will support students in building confidence in the kitchen while promoting safe working practices and a positive attitude towards learning. This role offers a rewarding chance to make learning enjoyable and meaningful in a supportive school environment.
Responsibilities for Food Technology Teacher:
- Deliver high-quality Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Plan and prepare practical and theory-based lessons in line with the curriculum.
- Teach students essential cooking skills, food safety, and nutritional knowledge.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing helpful feedback to support improvement.
- Maintain a safe and well-organised practical teaching environment.
- Encourage student engagement and creativity in food preparation and design.
Requirements for Food Technology Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Food Technology or a related subject is desirable.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to deliver practical lessons effectively.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- A genuine passion for helping students develop life skills through food education.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
