GSL Education are searching for a passionate and knowledgeable Geography Teacher to join a vibrant secondary school community in Hackney.

As a Geography Teacher, you will inspire students to develop an understanding of physical and human geography while helping them build strong analytical and research skills. You will deliver engaging lessons that bring geographical concepts to life and encourage students to explore the world around them.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Plan and Deliver Lessons: Create well-structured and engaging Geography lessons aligned with the curriculum.
  • Encourage Student Engagement: Use creative teaching methods to maintain student interest and participation.
  • Assess Student Progress: Monitor learning through assessments, classwork, and constructive feedback.
  • Develop Critical Thinking: Support students in analysing geographical data and forming informed conclusions.
  • Support Individual Learning Needs: Adapt teaching strategies to help students of different abilities succeed.
  • Maintain a Positive Classroom Environment: Promote respect, focus, and good behaviour during lessons.
  • Collaborate with Staff: Work with colleagues to contribute to the development of the wider curriculum.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification is essential.
  • A relevant degree in Geography or a related subject.
  • Strong subject knowledge and ability to deliver high quality Geography teaching.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students across different ability groups.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • Updated CV covering the last ten years with no unexplained gaps.
