Humanities Teacher

Location: Hull
Salary: £32,916 – £51,048 per annum
Contract: Full Time
Start Date: February 2026 or sooner

GSL Education are seeking a versatile Humanities Teacher to work within a secondary school in Hull.

About the School

The school delivers a broad and engaging humanities curriculum designed to develop pupils’ understanding of historical events, geographical issues and cultural perspectives. Staff work collaboratively to encourage critical thinking, research skills and curiosity about the wider world.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Humanities subjects such as History and Geography across KS3 and KS4

  • Deliver engaging lessons aligned with curriculum objectives

  • Encourage debate, research and analytical thinking

  • Monitor pupil progress and support exam preparation

  • Contribute to departmental planning

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience teaching Humanities subjects in secondary schools

  • Strong curriculum knowledge and classroom management skills

  • Ability to engage pupils in historical and global topics

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
