Salary: £88.94 – £95 per day (depending on experience)

GSL Education are seeking dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to work in schools across Dartford. This role is ideal for individuals who have experience supporting children or adults with Special Educational Needs and are committed to helping students thrive in a supportive learning environment. We also welcome applications from candidates with experience in healthcare, nursery settings, or activity leadership, as these backgrounds provide valuable skills when supporting students with additional needs.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will play a key role in supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them to engage in learning, develop confidence, and achieve their individual goals.
Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with Special Educational Needs
- Assist the teacher in delivering differentiated learning activities
- Support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural development
- Encourage students to engage with classroom tasks and learning activities
- Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment
- Support behaviour management strategies in line with school policies
- Work closely with teachers and SEN staff to support individual education plans (IEPs)
- Assist with communication and interaction needs where required
To be an SEN Teaching Assistant, you should have:
- Experience working with children or adults with SEN is essential
- Backgrounds in healthcare, nursery work, or activity leadership will be considered
- A patient, caring, and supportive approach
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
