Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Middlesbrough
Salary: £100 – £130 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking reliable and proactive Cover Supervisors to work across schools in Middlesbrough starting ASAP. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with classroom experience or those considering a future career in teaching.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will oversee lessons in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring students stay focused and complete their work in a positive and structured environment. We offer flexible day-to-day and long-term placements, with both full-time and part-time opportunities available.
Your Responsibilities as a Cover Supervisor (CS):
- Supervise whole classes during teacher absences
- Deliver pre-set lesson plans and ensure students remain on task
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Provide guidance and support to students where required
- Record attendance and report any issues to senior staff
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and productive learning environment
- Support general school duties as needed
- Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with young people (school-based experience desirable)
- A degree in Education, psychology, science or a similar field.
- CACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Teaching Assistant or childcare is desirable but not mandatory.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Confidence leading groups of students independently
- A flexible and professional approach
- · Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
